Industrial visit to 220 KV GIS Substation

Objectives of the visit

  1. To gain Practical knowledge of Electrical power distribution and transmission and power line carrier communication.
  2. To get familiarized with different electrical equipments and working of a substation.
  3. To study various parts of the substation and how they are operated.
  4. To get clear idea to read the single line diagram of power substation using different symbols used in diagrams.

Outcomes of the visit

  1. Learn and able to visualize practically different parts of the transformer in detail.
  2. Actually understand onsite how actually transformer steps down the voltage from 220KV/66 KV which in turn is further stepped down to 33KV and 11KV at different substations and distributed to household and industries through various feeders.
  3. Able to actually differentiate AIS (air insulated substation)with GIS (Gas insulated substation) and study advantages of the later.
  4. Understand the reason behind using stones/gravel in the substation to reduce the step potential and touch potential when operators work on switch yard and eliminate the growth of small weeds and plants inside the switch yard.
  5. Study various protective measures to protect the substations from various faults and its smooth function.
  6. Students could in detail learn about how the complete controlling of the substation is carried out remotely through SCADA programming.
  7. Encourages students from within regarding the branch chosen and gives wide exposure of employment in the related fields.

Benefits of the visit

  1. Involve JE/SDO from the same or allied organizations for expert lectures in future for Electrical Engg. students.
  2. Facilitate internship for students to such organizations with permission to give better industry exposure and make students industry ready.

Poster Making Competition

The Association of Computer Applications in association with the TMS Students Chapter conducted a Poster Presentation contest on 16/11/2022 for the students of BCA. 15 teams of students registered for the event and participated in the contest. Every team came out with new creative ideas. The students were able to collect a lot of data from primary sources and were able to inculcate all the vital data comprehensively into a single poster.

Bootcamps

In the DPG institute of technology and management, the Department of Computer application organized many boot camps in collaboration with coffee.io like android development, data science, data structures, and web development.

PDP – English Communication

In the DPG institute of technology and management, the Department of Computer application organized ” English communication classes” from 15/09/2022to28/11/2022 for second and Third-Year BCA.

Students who take beginning communication courses will often begin with a public speaking or debate course to learn the fundamentals of oral communication and debate, including research, reasoning, and arguments. Oral presentations and classroom debates are usually mandatory assignments in such courses. Introductory courses may also include interpersonal communication, which involves oral and nonverbal communication in small groups, or written communication, which introduces students to the fundamentals of composition in a variety of formats, including speeches and news writing. As courses become more advanced, students learn more about the rhetorical tradition, communication issues related to race and gender, visual communication, and health communication. Assignments in these courses generally include essays, presentations, and class discussions.

Seminar: 12 Principals of Animation

The Department of Computer Application organized a seminar on 12 principles of animations on 22/11/22 for second-year and third-year students. The seminar was inaugurated on 22.11.2022 at 9.30 am at the seminar Hall, Block A. The resource person Mr. CB ARUN KUMAR WAS WELCOME by MS Rashmi Verma

C B Arun Kumar has been working in the Animation and Visual Effects industry for over 30 years. He started, when he got his first BBC Microcomputer and used it for creating graphics for India’s first Science Fiction TV Series – Space City Sigma. He also worked on the very first Indian 2D animation series for Door darshan called Ghayab Aaya!

He graduated from the Mass Communications Research Institute in Delhi and has worked in various capacities in the Film and Television Industry in India for companies like TV18, Business India, TV Today, Vijay TV, Moving Picture Company, Maya Entertainment, and Pixion.

In 2005 he was awarded the National Award for best director of an Animation program for “Kachua aur Khargosh”, an episode from India’s first 3D Animated Series for Cartoon Network based on the Panchatantra.

C B Arun is passionate about teaching and was the Co-founder and Academic Director of FX School, a leading Film and VFX institute based in Mumbai, where he pioneered the use of DSLRs in low-cost feature film production working with noted filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma.

He is a Unity Certified Developer, an Unreal Engine fanatic, and an ardent Blender 3D Enthusiast as well as an award-winning 360-degree VR photographer. His current obsession is Virtual Production using Unreal Engine which he believes to be the most important development in Visual Effects for movies since the development of Computer Graphics.

Workshop On IOT Drone and Robotics

The department of Computer Application organized a Certificate Course on ” iot drone and robotics” during the period of 04/11/2022 to 04/12/2022. Students of the second-year and third-year attended the course. This course was done in collaboration with sky riders. Dr. Swati Bhardwaj, MS Rashmi Verma, Dr. Parli B Hari, MS Monika, Dr. Payal, MS Sangita, MS Megha, and MS Harsita motivate and encourage the students of BCA to take participation in this course.

The main objective of this course was to give a deep knowledge of drones and robotics. This Course motivates the students to attend the interview with full confidence and with good knowledge of technical. After this course, students knew about how to assemble drone robots, aircraft, etc. A total of 55 students of second and third-year BCA gets benefitted from this course.

At the end of each session, Quiz was conducted. At end of the course, the students who performed well were honored by the principal. He distributed the certificates to the students. At the end of the course, Dr. Swati Bhardwaj (TPO) and MS Rashmi Verma (HOD) of BCA gave a vote of thanks. The students appreciated the course instructors. As such, we can conclude that this program appeared to have met the main motto and the provision of this course is highly valued by members.

Workshop – Learn Programming The right way

The Department of Computer Application organized a Workshop on HOW TO CRACK INTERVIEW on 10/10/22 for second-year and third-year students. The workshop was inaugurated on 5.9.2022 at 9.30 am at the seminar Hall. Block A.

The main objective of this workshop was to learn programming in the right way. This workshop motivated the students to attend the interview full of confidence and with good technical skills.

Workshop – How To Crack Interview

The Department of Computer Application organized a Workshop on HOW TO CRACK INTERVIEW on 16/11/22 for second-year and third-year students. The workshop was inaugurated on 5.9.2022 at 9.30 am at the seminar Hall. Block A.

The workshop aims to provide students with the knowledge of how to face an interview and how to crack the interview.

A total of 210 students from the second-year and third-year BCA gets benefitted from this workshop. At the end of each session, the assessment was conducted. The resource person distributed the certificates to the students. At the end of the workshop, the students gave feedback on the workshop and resource person. They appreciated the resource person for sparing their expertise with us and clarifying the doubts raised by the students. The program was well organized by students of the BCA department. In the end, Dr. Swati Bhardwaj (TPO), MS Rashmi Verma (HOD), and MS Monika (MENTOR) gave a vote of thanks to the resource person.

Technical quiz – Eat the bug

The Association of Computer Engineers in association with BCA Students conducted the “Coding and Debugging Contest” on 5/09/22 for the students of II Year and III Year BCA. 80 Students registered for the event and participated in the contest.

Through this contest, the student will know how to do coding and fix the bugs in the program. The Coding and Debugging Contest can help open up new areas of opportunity in the student’s career.

Industrial Visit at BSNL Main Telephone Exchange, Gurgaon

To enhance the practical knowledge about networking, switching and communication of wired, wireless medium and giving them live demonstrations Department of Electrical and Electronics & Communication Engineering Organized One day Industrial visit at BSNL, Main Telephone Exchange, Old Delhi Road, Gurgaon on 8th December 20222.Mr. Manoj, SDE (indoor),BSNL, interacted with the students and explained them in depth the concept of communication and networking with physical demos.Ms. Parul Singh and Ms. Mukesh explained regarding transmission and signal server rooms. They also guided and discussed regarding various future opportunities in the allied steam.

Technical Presentation

Department of Electrical Engineering had organized Technical presentation competition on 21/11/20222. All the students of Electrical Engineering 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year participate in the event.
